Digital Tools and Information Systems at VŠE
During your doctoral studies, you will use several information systems and online tools for your studies, communication, teaching, research activities and administration. You do not need to master all of them right from the start. However, we recommend becoming familiar with their basic purpose and how they are used.

Email address in the firstname.lastname@vse.cz format
Doctoral students can request a university email address in the firstname.lastname@vse.cz format instead of using the standard email address based on their username (e.g. xabcde99@vse.cz).
We particularly recommend using an email address with your first and last name for academic and publishing activities, as well as for communication with international institutions, conferences, journals and other research partners. This format makes your email address easier to identify and is more suitable for professional communication outside the university.
How to request the email address
- Send a request for an email address in the
firstname.lastname@vse.czformat to insis@vse.cz. - Once the address has been created, you can set it as your preferred email address in InSIS.
- The change of your preferred email address will also be reflected in Microsoft 365. Please note that this may take up to 24 hours.
You will continue to receive messages sent to your other assigned university email addresses.
