Become a mentor

Are you a graduate of a doctoral program at the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) and would you like to stay in touch with the university? How about becoming a mentor?

For the very first time, the Doctoral Hub at VŠE is launching a new form of support for doctoral candidates and postdocs across all faculties! To see more visit the mentoring website.

We are currently looking for new mentors for our mentoring programme. Interested applicants can contact Mili Markvartová: mili.markvartova@vse.cz

The mentor role offers you the opportunity to recognize your own expertise and learn how to pass it on to less experienced students or early-career researchers (mentees). Interestingly, you can also learn a great deal from your mentee.

Mentoring is flexible and respects your time: you meet approximately once a month for one hour. The mentee comes prepared and sends topics they would like to discuss in advance. The main responsibility therefore lies with the mentee, while you as the mentor provide support, advice, and inspiration.

The Doctoral Hub office also plans to organize PhDay once a year — a networking day for current students, alumni, and all participants in the mentoring programme. This will give you the opportunity to network with highly motivated people working in a wide range of professional fields, and to meet them at VŠE.
