Graduation Ceremony

The doctoral graduation ceremony takes place once a year, usually during the winter semester. There is no need to register for the ceremony—an invitation will be sent to you automatically by email approximately one month in advance.

In the 2026/2027 academic year, the ceremony will take place on Friday, 20 November 2026 at 3:30 pm in the Vencovského Auditorium at the Prague University of Economics and Business (W. Churchill Sq. 4, 130 67 Prague 3 – Žižkov).

Practical Information

Due to the formal nature of the ceremony, graduands are encouraged to wear formal attire.

Participation in the ceremony is free of charge, and the number of guests is not limited.

Graduands shall arrive approximately 60–45 minutes before the ceremony to the foyer of the Vencovského Auditorium on the first floor of the New Building, where administrative matters will be handled and a short rehearsal will take place.

Children may attend the ceremony, though it is recommended to sit near the staircase and the upper exit of the auditorium to be able to leave the auditorium during the ceremony if needed. Space for strollers is available near the upper exit.

Parking during the ceremony is not provided. Although there are some parking spaces in the surrounding area, we recommend using a park-and-ride facility or parking garage and completing the journey using public transport.

Please be aware that if there isn’t a sufficient number of foreign graduates the ceremony is held in the Czech language only.

What If I Need My Diploma Earlier?

It is possible to collect your diploma before the graduation ceremony by prior arrangement. If you are unable to attend the ceremony, you may also collect your diploma after the ceremony.

You are still welcome to participate in the graduation ceremony even if you have already collected your diploma earlier.

Photos and Recording

Photographs and DVDs from the ceremony can be purchased through the VŠE website.

By attending the graduation ceremony at VŠE, you consent to photographs and audiovisual recordings being taken of you during the ceremony and afterward on the same day within the university premises. These materials may be published on university websites for promotional and distribution purposes.
